In the 8th of February, a juvenile loggerhead sea turtle was found alive inside a fishing net by fishermen. They swiftly removed it from the net and contacted the CRAM-Q (Marine Animals Rehabilitation Center of Quiaios) so the animal could be assisted as soon as possible. CRAM-Q contacted the Peniche port Captain that promptly sent a vessel of the Peniche Port Authority to collect the turtle so it could be assisted. CRAM-Q collected the animal at Peniche port and transported it to its facilities. To assess the animal's health a physical exam and several complementary diagnostic exams were performed (using equipments acquired by the LIFE+ MarPro). The analysis revealed muscular damage, dehydration and pulmonar asymmetry. At present the turtle is hospitalised at CRAM-Q under observation and medication. CRAM-Q would like to publicly thank the master and crew of the "Mãe Puríssima" fishing vessel, the port Captain and the crew of the vessel "Berlenga".
